Akihabara News (Tokyo) — Anime mobile game Uma Musume Pretty Derby is collaborating with Japanese convenience store chain FamilyMart for the game’s first anniversary campaign.
The popular Uma Musume Pretty Derby was developed by Japanese video game studio Cygames. It debuted in late 2018, but its full release was delayed to the spring of 2021. Nevertheless, it proved to be highly successful, with downloads to mobile platforms from iOS and Android, along with PC downloads from their official website, reaching over 10 million.
By a financial measure, the game has recorded sales of ¥109 trillion (US$965 million).
In light of such accomplishments, Cygames is partnering with FamilyMart to conduct the Uma Musume Pretty Derby 1st Anniversary Campaign at the approximately 16,600 FamilyMart stores across Japan.
The campaign has already begun and will last until March 7.
As part of the campaign, thirteen limited edition food items and beverages will be featured with images of the characters. Original illustrations with the game’s characters dressed in FamilyMart uniforms will also be available for purchase.
