Producing Japanese Vertiports

Akihabara News (Tokyo) — The Take Off Anywhere project, in this case mainly with the help of VFR Inc., has developed a domestically-produced model for vertiports.

The other firms primarily involved in the project are Sundred, ACSL, and Sensyn Robotics.

The model vertiport enables automatic takeoff and landing, automatic charging, and drone protection.

The design facilitates precise landings, and a positioning mechanism has been developed to ensure automatic recharging, which allows repeated operations without human assistance. The opening and closing mechanism of the vertiports protects the drone from wind, rain, or major temperature changes.

It is anticipated that this extra protection will ensure stable operations and extend the lifetime of drones.

Since this vertiport is designed and manufactured in Japan, customized orders are also possible.

The project is also working on improving the vertiport’s environmental profile, mainly by conducting research with the aim of making the vertiports self-sufficient in energy, even while automatically them to recharge drones.
