Jujutsu Kaisen Gets Second Season

Akihabara News (Tokyo) — Popular anime Jujutsu Kaisen will be getting a second season in 2023 following the success of its first season and the recent prequel film Jujutsu Kaisen 0.

Japanese manga artist Gege Akutakmi (pen name) is widely known for their work in popular shonen anime Jujutsu Kaisen, which took first place in the well-known anime and manga social networking and cataloging website, MyAnimeList, as the most popular anime of 2020.

Following the huge success of the first season, Akutakmi partnered with Japanese animation outfit Studio Mappa once again to direct the recent prequel film Jujutsu Kaisen 0, released in Japanese theaters last December.

The film was yet another massive success for the franchise, garnering about ¥10.5 trillion (US$91 million) in box office revenue, making it the 64th highest-earning film in Japanese movie history.

The North American release date for Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is believed to be March 18.
