Sony has developed an innovative display module that transforms your eyewear into a wearable device. By attaching the display module to your eyewear and putting them on, you will get a sub-window displayed in front of you without blocking your site. Sony will show it at the 2015 International CES.
Kaga Hightech will start selling 2 new smartwatch models manufactured by Kronoz LLC in Switzerland on December 26. They are wristwatch-style "ZeWatch2" and wristband-style "ZeBracelet2", and both of them provide a sleep and activity management system. Both will be sold for ¥13,500.

LG announced that they will release their new round face smartwatch LG G Watch R in the beginning of November around the world.

LG G Watch R is an Android Wear smartwatch with Snapdragon 400 CPU and 4GB memory. It has a similar look and sense of fit as a regular wristwatch. OEL display (320x320) is used for its round dial face.

3D printer plays a key role in development of Privacy Visor

The National Institute of Informatics (NII) and Maezawa Mold have been co-developing a wearable device, the Privacy Visor, to protect users' privacy from SNS facial recognition.

The Privacy Visor is a Google Glass-style device that uses LEDs. By illuminating a user's face with invisible light, it can prevent privacy invasion through surveillance camera-based face recognition systems.

Elecom is going to release a wristband-style active monitor HCW-WAM01 in mid-September. The price will be around 6,980 yen.

Samsung announced the release of the SIM card-compliant curvy smart watch, Gear S. It will be released to the world starting in October, but its price has not been announced yet.

Gear S features a SIM card that is compatible with 3G networks so that users can make phone calls or send messages without connecting another smartphone device. The other interesting feature is that it supports healthcare or fitness functions like S Health and Nike+ Running.

started selling an Android 4.0 wristwatch smartphone - AR-EC309 - for ¥37,584 (~$380.00).

AR-EC309 is not a smartwatch. It's a SIM-unlocked smartphone. As it's a stand-alone data device, you can make phone calls via Skype or Line as well as accessing the internet and sending messages just like a smartphone - but with no need to pair up with another device via Bluetooth.

Adidas Japan announced the release of a wristband-style heart rate monitor called miCoach FIT SMART.

They are going to start offering pre-sale on August 15 at Adidas ONLINE shop and release it to the public on September 1.
