In July 2013, Meditrek in Yokohama released the Meruru, which enables soft contact lenses to be inserted and removed without touching the fingers.

"Using soft contact lenses requires practice, and even after practicing, quite a lot of people find it difficult to insert and remove soft contact lenses. Some people fail at practicing, and stop using contact lenses, because they think it's too difficult. If there was a way to handle contact lenses easily, without hurting the eyes, it would be a great help to such people."

Thanko is now selling binoculars that work with iPhone 5 - called Live View Binoculars for iPhone 5.

With regular binoculars, you have to move your face/eyes closer to the lenses. That position could make you feel tired or make you easily lose the object you want to see. Or if you wear glasses, it's probably not clear what you are looking at.

I've seen only a few people who were using iPhone 5c. It seems to be a bit rare in Japan. This is for those who have this rare iPhone.

Hamee released colorful Lightning cables to match the colors of the iPhone 5c for ¥1,890 each.

It's a certified product by Apple (MFI, made for iPhone/iPod/iPad).

  • Color: White, Pink, Yellow, Blue, and Green
  • Length of cable: 65cm

When you take off the lens cap of your camera before shooting a photo, don't you sometimes start wondering where you should keep the cap? Although you could keep it in your bag, you might end up searching for it there later. Or you might have a strap tied on the lens cap but it could bother you while shooting.

Nothing fancy nor outstanding about Thanko's new Lens Cap Holder, but you will probably like it a lot.

Place your smartphone on Thanko's new speaker device called Okudake Speaker with Battery. The microphone located on its surface detects sounds from the smartphone's on-board speaker and amplifies them.

The power is fed by USB port or 3 size AA batteries. When the device is connected to a USB port, you can also use it as a smartphone charger or rechargeable battery charger.

2 new models of USB adapter were released by Sanwa Supply. Both are ¥5,800.

They are compatible with TransferJet technology (Close proximity wireless transfer technology), which instantly enables them to send/receive data to/from another device just by putting the device above them.

In these adapters, Sony's ultra-fast LSI is built-in so they are capable of sending 50MB data to other devices in about 5 seconds. In addition to that, using close proximity wireless transfer technology lessens the possibility of data leakage.
