To Bullet Train, or Not to Bullet Train: Why not do Both?

The Free Gauge Train
New Tech in Testing

This past weekend, the Asahi Shimbun reported that the Kyushu Railway Company began testing a very special supertech rail vehicle: the Free Gauge Train (FGT). It's special because it can do Bullet Training, but can also tighten up and get its Local Train on.

Acecook - "Devil-Spicy" instant noodles from its EDGE outrageous series

Today, Acecook announced that they are going to release the EDGE Onikara Yakisoba (Onikara means literally "Devil-Spicy" meaning insanely-hot fried noodles) on May 12.

I guess that Japanese people generally are not good at spicy food, so dishes called "super-hot" here in Japan might be considered only medium spicy by foreign people. But hopefully Acecook won't disappoint us with its level of the spiciness, and can live up to its Onikara name!

The age of Yakiniku Train has come!

Today, a new type of Yakiniku (Japanese-style BBQ) restaurant called Tokkyu Yakiniku has opened in Osaka, Japan.

"Tokkyu", a part of the restaurant name, means express train in Japanese. The reason why the restaurant was named like that is obvious: at the restaurant, all the dishes and drinks are delivered on a moving plate on a train track. Yes, it's like a Kaiten-sushi / Rotating sushi / Sushi train, but instead of sushi, slices of meat come to your table by express train.

Elecom - Palm-sized 3W high-output mono Bluetooth speaker

Elecom is going to release a palm-sized Bluetooth 4.0 monaural (mono) LBT-SPP20 series speaker in late April.

Although the LBT-SPP20 series is a very small mono speaker, it reaches 3W high-output and its twin passive radiators produce rich bass sound. You can experience more powerful and more three-dimensional sound than you expect.

After the speaker gets fully charged through a USB port with the accompanying USB cable, it is able to play continuously for 8 hours.

Elecom - USB memory stick to connect both smartphone and PC

Elecom is going to release a USB3.0 memory stick with conversion adapter between microUSB and USB - the MF-SAU3 series - in late April. Because of the built-in conversion, the MF-SAU3 series can connect both smartphone (USB2.0) and PC.

This small USB memory stick separates into 3 parts: a USB memory stick, a conversion adapter for smartphone/tablet, and a cap for the adapter.
