Exploring and Utilizing Laser-Material Interaction for Engineering, Biotechnology, and Medicine

At the Terakawa Laboratory of Keio University's Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering, research is being conducted on technology that explores and utilizes laser-material interaction to contribute to engineering, biotechnology, and medicine.

Here, keywords of the research are laser processing, micro- and nano-structure, and biomedical applications.

In particular, the laboratory is focused on processing with a femtosecond laser that enables them to achieve more precise processing than with lasers currently used broadly in industry.

Honda Aircraft Company unveils lightweight "HondaJet" in Switzerland

Honda Aircraft Company, Honda's subsidiary aircraft business, has just introduced their currently in-development lightweight jet called HondaJet to the public at the 2014 European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (EBACE) in Geneva, Switzerland.

They also announced that they will begin the full-scale process for commercial production in order to start delivering to end customers within 2015 after being able to obtain the aircraft's type certification by the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) of the United States.

Sony - 20W high power small Bluetooth speaker SRS-X3

Sony is going to release compact high-powered Bluetooth speaker SRS-X3 for about 15,000 yen on June 21.

SRS-X3 has a maximum 20W output from its small body (W185xH67xL66mm) with 2 34mm speaker units and an opposed passive radiator.

The exterior is created with a design called "Definitive Outline" to make the beautiful frame lines. The rubber materials used also contribute to making the appearance modern and slick.
