Summer Festivals in Japan: Fun on the Streets with Thousands of Humans!

Via Producer Kamasami Kong:
The are many summer festivals in Japan that feature everything from fireworks to food. One one of the most popular is the Azabu-juban matsuri held on the cobblestone streets of the Azabu-juban traditional shopping district.

Hundreds of thousands of both locals and tourists make their way through the shoulder-to-shoulder crowds to enjoy all kinds of Japanese and foreign foods as well as a wide variety of beer, wine and spirits from all over the world. There are sweet treats as well, including cotton candy, candy apples and shaved ice.

However, the festival is more than just food and drinks. It’s also about people watching, kimono clad girls, shouting food vendors, picture taking, selfies, music, dance, parades, taiko drum performances, goldfish scooping and so much more.

In our short video, you can get a few glimpses of some of the sights and sounds of this year’s festival. (Follow Kong on Facebook - AkihabaraNews Podcasts with Kong)

Azabujuban Noryo Festival and Roppongi Hills Bon Odori, Presented by Kamasami Kong, Producded by DIGITALHUB.JP

From the Production Team:
This was a fun day! A standard video production usually involves weeks, months if it’s particularly complicated, but over the weekend at the Azabujuban Noryo (cool summer nights) Festival and Roppongi Hills Bon Odori (traditional music & dancing) Festival, we challenged ourselves to shoot, produce and distribute this 2-minute video in only 7 hours! This was our first official collaboration with Kamasami Kong, and we look forward to many more!

Tokyo in Motion - AkihabaraNews.com
It's easy to grow accustomed to the bombast of everyday life here in Tokyo, but it's also nice to get an occasional reminder of how beautiful the city can be.

Izushi has developed the Kinglock Nut, which achieves tight fastening through an innovative new structure and surface, unlike those in conventional nuts.

Essentially, it’s Japan’s SEMA show (Specialty Equipment Market Association). Tuning companies and parts manufacturers show off their new products, tuning houses show off their latest builds, and automakers show off their future enthusiast and competition models and concepts.

If you’re reachable by terrestrial radio waves or GPS signals from space, this watch will always be accurate within about 15 nanoseconds or less. And sure, you can pop out the electronic crown with a twist and pull and set the time manually, or just like, you know, pretty much never do that again. Come meet the beautiful hulk!
