Four Centuries' Passion for Sake (4K VIDEO)

Editor’s Note:
The following is reshared from our friends at the nicely developing DigitalHub.JP, a new Tokyo-based multimedia production & distribution...uhhh, hub. Their video below was shot with the JVC LS300 4K UHD camcorder. We reviewed the LS300 last year.

Toshimaya - the Oldest Sake Shop in Tokyo

It’s kind of amazing to think a that single business entity can have roots that go all the way back to 1596 - that’s like...180 years before the founding of the United States! While there are a number of such businesses here in modern Japan, it’s still quite impressive.

Four Centuries' Passion for Sake: Tradition and Practice at Toshimaya

In this 4K UHD mini-documentary, DigitalHub.JP explores the history of the Toshimaya tavern and brewery, the ingredients and processes involved in sake brewing, and through personal narratives, learns about the motivations and inspirations for key members of Toshimaya’s professional family. All in beautiful 4K (and the HD is impressive, too).

We’ll let the video tell the rest of the story - if you’ve got the monitor for it, be sure to dial all the way up to 4K!

TokyoStreetView: Roppongi Hills (4K VIDEO)
Aside from its rather unpleasant history, Roppongi Hills is famous for its shopping areas, large selection of nice restaurants, and its large esplanade where companies organize events all year long. It offers a stunning panoramic view of Tokyo from either its rooftop, the Sky Deck, or from the 52nd floor of the building.
