Casio is going to release new model EX-ZR1600 of their EXILIM digital camera series on March 20.

EX-ZR1600 is equipped with an effective 16.1MP 1/2.3inch CMOS sensor and offers an 18X optical zoom lens. A 3-inch 180-degree flip screen and a front shutter button make it easy for the user to take good selfies. It is able to shoot 1920x1080/30fps movies.

In addition to Wi-Fi capability, Casio added their "Bluetooth Smart" functionality to the EX-ZR1600. While continuously paired with smartphone using the dedicated EXILIM CONNECT application and the EX-ZR1600 camera via Bluetooth Smart, the user can control camera functionality with the smartphone such as activating the camera, checking or copying photos in the camera, saving taken photos automatically in the smartphone, and remotely pressing the shutter button.

To celebrate the popular anime series Mobile Suit Gundam's 35th anniversary since it was first broadcasted on TV, Bandai Namco and Casio jointly made the "G-SHOCK×GUNDAM" special edition G-Shock model.

G-SHOCK×GUNDAM will be sold for 18,000 yen.

Casio is going to release the new flagship model of its EXILIM series - 10.7X optical zoom EX-100 - for about ¥90,000 in late March.

EX-100 features 28-300mm range f/2.8 aperture 10.7x optical zoom lens including 12 elements in 10 group lens contraction. It is compatible with macro photography from the shortest distance of 5cm and with telephotography from the shortest distance of 50cm.
