Tokyo Motor Show Gallery #2 (CARS, CUPHOLDER ROBOTS, SELF-DRIVING GERMAN SAUSAGES)

If Senior Contributor Nayalan Moodley is the King of AkihabaraNews photography, then Editor Reno is the Princess of Snapshots.

As we’ve stated over and over again, there are few more photodorky than Mr. Moodley, AKA DARC(noodles). He constantly chides Mr. Tibke for still using a 3-year-old Sony RX100 and not upgrading to the supersexy RX100 IV, despite the fact that even now Princess Snapshot is barely nudging the RX100’s limits.

In his latest round of tulip stomping, Captain Cameranerd has also come down hard on our Editor’s enthusiasm for shooting with his new iPhone 6s Plus - which takes AMAZING photos and videos in its own right as a camera, despite it being a mere phone. But okay, that’s probably just (somewhat) forgivable jealousy.

So, to the Public:

Our first Tokyo Motor Show gallery was 13 “photographs” from Mr. Fancyphotopants, and in retort we now present an inline gallery of 30 “snapshots” from Editor Wordnerd. These below are a mix of RX100 and iPhone 6s Plus shots, and granted, the number of photos posted herein makes it an unfair comparison (maybe not really), but we put it to you, the reader:

Who wins?

Oh, as for the Tokyo Motor Show...

As we’ve stated, the biennial show is absolutely huge - one of the top 5 auto events on planet earth. It takes over the entire Tokyo Big Sight Convention Center, attracts joyless journalists from around the world, collects nearly 1,000,000 attendees over the course of 10 or so days, and brings out the craziest concept vehicles from every single major automaker on the planet (sans the lazy Americans who can’t sell over here).
