Spec Computer - Self-healing iPhone 6 Cover Skin

Uguard.Me's new self-healing "skin" for the iPhone 6 to be distributed by Spec Computer

Previously available only for iOS devices up to the iPhone 5s, the 1.3mm-thin skin made with a special material that is able to heal itself when it gets small scratched or nicked is now ready for the iPhone 6. The skin, which acts like a very minimal case, can sort of self-repair light damage produced by everyday friction and hits and bumps and bruises.

The skin consists of a single sheet for the back of the phone and two smaller strips the front (top and bottom; see photos below). In addition to be scratch-repairing, the skin also provides a non-slip coating that prevents the phone from sliding off inclined surfaces.

Apple iPhone Huge Sales - AkihabaraNews.com
However we decide to categorize the devices, here in Japan, there is clearly one smartphone to rule them all. For more than 3 years now, with a consistently growing marketshare, iterations of Apple's flagship product have been the best selling phones in Japan - and not just among smartphones - that's for the entire mobile telecommmunications market.

Our personal telecommunications devices, our smartphones, have long been well beyond simple "phones." They're broadly applicable, technologically disruptive information and media vectors.

Unlike a traditional mobile phone or Android smartphone, iPhone doesn't support mobile wallet services. But, NTT docomo made it possible to join those services using your iPhone.

They are going to release Osaifu Keitai Jacket 01, a device for iPhone that transforms the iPhone into a mobile wallet compliant device.

Screw-on Strap/Lanyard Bracket for iPhone
Bulkier iPhone cases have long offered this functionality, the iPhone itself has not and probably never will. Since Japanese consumers like the feature, and the iPhone is the best-selling phone in Japan, with typical shrewdness Thanko swooped in and solved a problem we were barely aware that we had.

Thanko released a super-rugged IP68 waterproof/dustproof iPhone case. With it, you have no worries to play with your iPhone with the case, for example, in the bathtub, and at the beach or snowy mountain.

Sure, 4K is a relative term when the sensor is in a mobile phone, but if you’ve been shooting pixely mobile videos since the mid-2000’s, it’s pretty much impossible to not be blown away by what this year’s phlabby iPhone can do.

Cute? Yuck? Curious? Disgusting?

This week it’s the (what was thought to have been) pioneering stem cell research of RIKEN’s Dr. Haruko Obokata & friends coming under serious scrutiny that could lead to disavowal, and a recounting of the much more enjoyable tale of how SoftBank’s Masayoshi Son got Steve Jobs to give him iPhone exclusivity in Japan.
