Samsung's head mounted display coming out in early May in Japan

Samsung announced the release of a head mounted display - Gear VR Innovator Edition for Galaxy S6.

In Japan, they will start accepting advanced orders on April 23 and shipping to buyers sometime in early May. The curious can try it at Galaxy shops in Japan starting today.

The Gear VR Innovator Edition for Galaxy S6 head-mounted display provides a 360-degree image when used in combination with Samsung's smartphones such as the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge. Samsung developed the system in collaboration with Oculus VR, an American, Facebook-owned virtual reality technology company based in California.

Samsung is planning to offer more than 60 titles including 360-degree VR games and omnidirectional live videos. Also, you will be able to view photos and videos taken by Samsung's smartphones on a virtual big screen as if you were watching at a movie theater.
