NTT docomo to release Dococchi - Wearable device to track your kid
NTT docomo is finally going to release a waterproof/dustproof wristwatch-style wearable device for kids, the Dococchi 01, next month.
It debuted at NTT docomo's 2014-2015 winter/spring products rollout that took place last October, and we questioned at the time whether it is too protective or overbearing for parents to use such technology.
What it can do is monitor your child's vital signs, environmental conditions at their location, provide general data about activity, and, of course, display on a map the device's exact location. The wearable can sync with up to 6 external devices (smartphones, tablets, and PCs). If you are separated from your child - exceeding a certain distance - the Dococchi 01 will send notifications to a smartphone to prevent the possibility of the child getting lost.
- Release Date: April 4 (White model), Early April (Light Blue model)
- Size: 44 x 44 x 15mm excluding the belt
- Weight: 50g including the belt
