Clouds Over Tokyo at 2160p (4K VIDEO) -

The Videos of darwinfish105:
Readers know that we're totally into this guy's work. We shared his giant robot photography last year, featured what we call the Tokyo Pastel Diorama Series
(#1 and #2 - both awesome), totally dug his Panasonic GH4 time lapse piece from several months back, and he made our minds go all rubbery with the Inception/Blade Runner lovechild known as Mirrored Tokyo. Lucky for us and all of you, the hits just keep on coming.

This Edition:
Clouds above TOKYO

darwinfish105's latest video is exactly what it sounds like, which is exactly beautiful. We also appreciate that he's getting better at choosing soundtracks - the music used on Clouds above TOKYO is among the most fitting of his recent work.

Shot around Tokyo during the spring and summer, this video combines media from four different cameras and lenses. While not all of the gear listed below shoots 4K (sorry, GH3), the video is presented by YouTube as 2160p 4K - so clearly they're gearing up for that eventuality. Sure, it doesn't really make a difference at the moment when so few of us own 4K-capable viewing devices, but think about it - wasn't very long ago that 1080p and devices that could handle it also seemed exotically supertech.

Here's the gear list:

Camera: Sony DSC-RX100M3 [NEWS] [PRICES]
Camera: Panasonic DMC-GH3 [FULL SPECS & PRICES]
Camera: Panasonic DMC-GH4 [OUR REVIEW] [PRICES]
Lens: OLYMPUS M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 9-18mm F4.0-5.6

Lens: LUMIX G X VARIO 12-35mm/F2.8
Lens: SAMYANG 7.5mm F3.5 Fish-eye
Lens: PENTAX-DA FISH-EYE 10-17mmF3.5-4.5ED

And here's the lovely:

It's easy to grow accustomed to the bombast of everyday life here in Tokyo, but it's also nice to get an occasional reminder of how beautiful the city can be.

Izushi has developed the Kinglock Nut, which achieves tight fastening through an innovative new structure and surface, unlike those in conventional nuts.

Essentially, it’s Japan’s SEMA show (Specialty Equipment Market Association). Tuning companies and parts manufacturers show off their new products, tuning houses show off their latest builds, and automakers show off their future enthusiast and competition models and concepts.

We hate to use the word ‘cute’ when discussing robotics, but… Come on now...just have a watch and tell us that ain’t the case. You can’t. Unless you’re mean, uptight, and cold, cold of heart.

If you’re reachable by terrestrial radio waves or GPS signals from space, this watch will always be accurate within about 15 nanoseconds or less. And sure, you can pop out the electronic crown with a twist and pull and set the time manually, or just like, you know, pretty much never do that again. Come meet the beautiful hulk!
