Toyota Land Cruiser 70 is back on sale for a limited time
Toyota announced that they are going to sell the Land Cruiser 70 from their popular rugged four-wheel drive vehicle line, Land Cruiser. It will be available in Japan for a limited time until June 30, 2015.
Toyota ended the sale of Land Cruiser 70 in Japan in 2004 because people here started placing more importance on 4WD drivability on paved roads and also because of the enhancement of regulations concerning exhaust gas from diesel engines. However, even 10 years later after Land Cruiser 70 disappeared from the Japanese market, it is still called by its nickname "LanCru" and has many firm fans who have been hoping for it to be back.
So, Toyota has decided to sell Land Cruiser 70 again at the timing of the 30th anniversary of its birth. There are 2 models available: the 4-door Van for 3,600,000 yen and the Pickup Truck for 3,500,000 yen.
They feature a 4.0 liter V6 engine and five-speed manual transmission. Body color can be chosen from 7 colors: White, Silver Metallic, Gray Metallic, Red, Beige, and Blue.
