We’re really starting to fall in love with this guy’s work. We shared some of his giant robot photography last year, totally dug a Panasonic GH4 time lapse piece from a few months back, and earlier this month, he made our minds go all rubbery with the Inception/Blade Runner lovechild known as Mirrored Tokyo. And today...heeeeee’s back.

Tokyo Bay: Where all the Stuff Comes & Goes 
The title of this particular video is Telecom Center Observatory Tilt Shift, and being that it’s located right in the beating heart of Tokyo Bay, the Tokyo Telecom Center is an excellent place to see ships, trucks, containers - the grandest form of grand-scale commerce in action; tilt-shifted and time lapsed. And although this video’s subject is the frantic, gargantuan business of one of the world’s most active and vital industrial ports, it all looks like toys.

And what is that, exactly? Well, it’s this kind of photography where you tilt/shift a camera’s focal point, and then maybe shoot for a really long time, and then speed it up to lapse the time. Taken from afar, in this case with a Sony Alpha NEX-6 (details, specs, prices), this method makes things look tiny and cute and softens much of the edges and most of the colors.

Yes, that is a total cop-out explanation, but come on now - if you really need to know the fine print, then you’re probably a photographer and that means you probably already know. If you’re not a photographer, but still want to know, then you probably should become a photographer.
