Ricoh Imaging - PENTAX K-3 Prestige Edition - Only 2000 units available in the world

Ricoh Imaging received the "BEST DSLR EXPERT" award for their PENTAX K-3 at the 2014 TIPA Photo & Imaging Awards. To celebrate, they announced the release of this special edition model - PENTAX K-3 Prestige Edition.

PENTAX K-3 Prestige Edition will be out for sale on August 8, and only 2,000 units will be available all over the world. The accompanying camera's specs are the same as the original PENTAX K-3, released in November 2013 (Click here to read more about PENTAX K-3), with the latest firmware Ver.1.10 pre-installed.

The special PENTAX K-3 Prestige Edition comes with a K-3 camera in gunmetal coating, a battery grip D-BG5, a special strap O-ST1403, and a dedicated presentation box. The body color offers a different type of high-class exterior compared with the original model. Also, the accompanying synthetic leather strap reads "2014 TIPA BEST DIGITAL SLR EXPERT" and a stamped logo of PENTAX K-3.

announced that the number of advanced orders of PENTAX K-3 Prestige Edition has reached the available quantity of 2,000 units, and they stopped taking any more of its orders.

Ricoh Imaging unveiled their new medium format camera "PENTAX 645Z" last month. Today they announced that they are going to release it on June 27.

The estimated price is 864,000 yen. The price seems reasonable when compared to other products with the same image sensor.
