Samsung - GALAXY Tab S - Android tablet Wi-Fi model out in Japan on Aug 1

Samsung announced the release of the Wi-Fi version of their Android tablet GALAXY Tab S in Japan. Its 10.5-inch and 8.4-inch Wi-Fi models will go on sale on August 1.

GALAXY Tab S has Super AMOLED display (2560 x 1600 pixel resolution). It produces a 1.3 times wider color gamut compared with regular LCD displays, which allows dark emerald green that was not possible to reproduce in the past.

It has Samsung Exynos 5420 (Cortex-A7 x4 1.3GHz + A15 x4 1.9GHz) Octa-core, 3GB RAM, 8MP main-camera, and 2.1MP sub-camera. The 10.5-inch model has 32GB storage and the 8.4-inch model has 16GB storage. It supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4. There is a fingerprint sensor, hall sensor, accelerometer, magnetic field sensor, gyro sensor, and RGB sensor built-in.

Talk of Apple's iWatch has suddenly given way to Samsung's new smart watch, which the company has tentatively said will be presented on September 4th in Berlin, ahead of the IFA Conference.

It is reportedly to be known as "Galaxy Gear" and is supposedly going to be a "concept device".  What exactly this means is not completely known - it is not clear if the watch will be ready for shipment or if what will be shown is a prototype of what it will be.

Samsung unveiled their new Android 4.4.2 (Kitkat) smartphone Galaxy S5 at MWC 2014 (Mobile World Congress 2014), currently taking place in Barcelona, Spain. They will be releasing the 16GB model and 32GB model globally in April.

Samsung announced the release of the SIM card-compliant curvy smart watch, Gear S. It will be released to the world starting in October, but its price has not been announced yet.

Gear S features a SIM card that is compatible with 3G networks so that users can make phone calls or send messages without connecting another smartphone device. The other interesting feature is that it supports healthcare or fitness functions like S Health and Nike+ Running.

Yesterday, we wrote about Samsung's new wearable devices Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo that connect to make phone calls, play music or take photos. However, Gear Fit, which Samsung has also introduced at MWC 2014 (Mobile World Congress 2014), doesn't have any functions like that.

Samsung's new Tizen OS-powered wristwatch-style smart device Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo were unveiled at MWC 2014 (Mobile World Congress 2014), in Barcelona, Spain. They are due to be released around the world this coming April. The release timing in Japan is TBD.

Both devices have a 1.63-inch Super AMOLED display (320x320). They can work with Samsung smartphones so emails, phone calls, SNS messages and so on will be noticed on the display of Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo.

Ahead of CES Samsung outs two new cameras with the NX30 and Galaxy Camera 2 that both features Samsung "Tag & Go" NCF Photo sharing that will let you send your picture directly to your smartphone in a heartbeat!

The first model, the NX30, is an upgrade of the existing NX20 that comes with a new 20.3Mpix sensor designed for better low light shooting and improved fast hybrid AF that only needs 80ms to find is target. The NX30 comes with a nice Super AMOLED Touchscreen as well as a 16-50mm lens kit.

Samsung unveiled their latest Chrome OS notebook PC Chromebook 2. The 11.6-inch model (USD319.99) and 13.3-inch model (USD399.99) will be released in April in the U.S.

Since 2012, Samsung hasn't introduced a new Chromebook model. The new Chromebook 2 adopts a new CPU and is fully integrated with Google Hangouts, Google's video-chat platform, and HD 720p Web camera and 2 2W speakers. It is able to come back to active from sleep mode within less than a second and also from power-off mode within less than 10 seconds.
