Popular Nikon 1 V3 Premium Kit surpasses production capacity

Nikon announced the fact that Nikon 1 V3 Premium Kit has been receiving so many orders more than they expected that it cannot keep up with production.

Nikon 1 V3 is a mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera from the "Nikon 1 " series and it was released on April 17, 2014.

The salable Nikon 1 V3 Premium Kit comes with a "1 NIKKOR 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6 PD-ZOOM" electric standard zoom lens, external electronic viewfinder (DF-N1000) and the dedicated grip (GR-N1010) other than the camera itself.

The price is around ¥124,000.

announced that the number of advanced orders of PENTAX K-3 Prestige Edition has reached the available quantity of 2,000 units, and they stopped taking any more of its orders.

Olympus is going to release the latest flagship model of their rugged compact digital camera series - OLYMPUS STYLUS TG-3 Tough - for about ¥48,000 in the beginning of July.

The new model adds a macro photography mode that enables an approach of as close as 10mm to an object from its lens. In that mode, it can zoom up to 6.9X when the focal distance is 100mm (35mm equivalent), and when used in conjunction with super-resolution zoom, it is able to shoot the object in 13.8X zoom.

Sony is going to release HD video meeting system PCS-XC1 for about 298,000 yen in November.

Sigma finally announced the release day of their uniquely-shaped digital camera SIGMA dp2 Quattro. It will be out for 110,000 yen on June 27.

Mirrorless interchangeable lens camera - α5100 - will be released by Sony on September 5.

 

The neurocam is the world's first wearable camera system that automatically records what interests you.

It consists of a headset with a brain-wave sensor and connects to an iPhone. The system estimates whether you're interested in something from the brain-waves captured by the sensor, and uses the iPhone's camera to record the scenes that appear to interest you.

Just buy wearing the neurocam, the scenes you have shown an interest in are recorded automatically, and are added to an album which you can look through later.

Sony announced release of their new A-mount DSLR - α77 II - for about ¥135,000 on June 6.

Panasonic officially announced that their new mirrorless camera LUMIX DMC-GH4, which is able to shoot 4K video, will be released on April 24 for the following price:  

  • Body (LUMIX DMC-GH4) - About ¥170,000
  • Lens Kit (DMC-GH4 and the lens "LUMIX G VARIO 14-140mm/F3.5-5.6 ASPH./POWER.") - About ¥230,000
