Mopping iRobot Braava 380j for sale in Japan

Sales On Demand Corporation, iRobot's authorized Japanese reseller, is going to start selling mopping cleaning robot Braava 380j on July 4.

Braava 380j offers you 2 cleaning modes: Wet Mode and Dry Mode.

Wet Mode is usually good for removing greasy dirt or house dust and pollen. While Braava 380j cleans, it moves back and forth like the movement of mopping the floor. The attached wet cleaning pad feeds regularly a certain amount of water to the cloth to keep it wet.

Dry Mode lets Braava 380j move like traditional iRobot products. It moves straight and turns at obstacles. When choosing Dry Mode, you should set it with the accompanying dry cloth. You can also use a regular commercial disposable dry cloth.

With the built-in NorthStar Navigation System,Braava 380j is capable of understanding the shape of a room and the location of furniture in order to systematically clean the room.

Yokohama City's Nippon Automatic Fine Machinery develops and manufactures a machine for affixing a backboard, used in suspending products displayed in drugstores and other stores, onto product boxes.

CCP is going to roll out the new and improved cleaning robot MOCORO CZ-562 on July 26.

MOCORO CZ-562 is a ball-type mopping robot made of microfiber and collects dust and hairs by rolling on the floor. It doesn't look mechanical like iRobot's Roomba. It's more like a fluffy stuffed animal.

Color variations are Champagne Gold, Cardinal Red, Passion Pink, Turquoise Blue, and Lavender. 100 units are available for each color.

The Hagiwara Lab in the Department of Information and Computer Science of Keio University's Faculty of Science and Technology is trying to realize a robotic brain that can carry on a conversation, or in other words, a robotic brain that can understand images and words and can carry on thoughtful communication with humans.

Sinfonia Technology is planning to release a solar panel cleaning robot "Resola" in autumn 2014.

Resola is like a solar panel version of the iRobot Roomba, and understands its surrounding environment with a sensor and determines its own cleaning path. It cleans up a solar panel with a wiper, brush and pouring water the same way that Roomba vacuums a room.

Taihei Environmental Science Center has developed a system that automatically performs water quality testing, and can detect bacteria such as E. coli. In the past, this work had to be done manually. The system uses three robots to completely automate all stages of the process, from collecting a predetermined amount of the sample, injecting agar, agitating, coagulating and inverting, to the placement and storage of the culture in incubators. This level of automation not only eliminates human error, substantially improving test accuracy, it also increases processing capacity.
