LG G Watch is now available for purchase in Japan

On Google Play in Japan, the Google's platform Android Wear built-in LG's new smart watch - LG G Watch - went on sale today. The price is 22,900 yen.

Information and photos of Samsung's Gear Live is also currently listed on Google Play, but it still says that Gear Live will be out in the near future.

LG G Watch is a wearable device with Android Wear (Google's platform for smart watch) built-in. Android Wear pairs up with an Android smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth network and then work. It takes the important notifications/information from the paired smartphone or tablet and can be used to control things like playing music, making a dinner reservation and setting the alarm clock.

LG G Watch has IPX7 water/IP6X rustproof performance. 2 colors (black titan and white gold) are available.

ARES Inc., Japanese sports GPS device production company, is going to release watch-style Android device ARES EC309 for 29,800 yen in the beginning of February. It allows you to do data communication and make a phone call via a 3G (WCDMA) connection with a micro SIM.

Unlike a regular watch style device that works well by connecting with a smartphone via Bluetooth, ARES EC309 enables you to connect internet, send emails, download applications bought from Google Play directly.

Google unveiled their newly developed gadget Google Nihongo Nyuryoku Magic Hand (Japanese language input magic hand) today. It was developed to help make using smart devices easier.

It is able to solve problems that arise from the use of a touch panel, such as the following:

- it is sometimes hard to control with hands with long nails or while wearing gloves or a bandage
- screens can sometimes get dirty with fingerprints
- screens can sometimes be poorly responsive

The Japanese major online store Rakuten and the American company Livescribe yesterday agreed to sell a smartpen called Livescribe 3 on Rakuten Books.

As soon as you write on the accompanying paper notebook with the Livescribe 3 smartpen, the lines, letters or graphics you write get instantly displayed on a smartphone or tablet that has the Livescribe+ application installed. The notes are editable and searchable. Also, the hand-written letters can be converted into digital text.

Samsung's new Tizen OS-powered wristwatch-style smart device Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo were unveiled at MWC 2014 (Mobile World Congress 2014), in Barcelona, Spain. They are due to be released around the world this coming April. The release timing in Japan is TBD.

Both devices have a 1.63-inch Super AMOLED display (320x320). They can work with Samsung smartphones so emails, phone calls, SNS messages and so on will be noticed on the display of Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo.

Sony's wristband style wearable device SmartBand SWR10 will be released for about ¥9,800 on May 23.
