Nissin - The first Somen Cup Noodle

Nissin is going to release the first Cup Noodle product that uses Somen noodles - Cup Noodle Light Somen - on July 7.

Somen is a very thin Japanese noodle made of wheat flour, and since it's very simple and easy to eat, Japanese people eat cold Somen noodles a lot especially during summer.

The soup of Cup Noodle Light Somen is simple Japanese style made from mixed broth of chicken, shitake mushroom, seaweed and baby clams. The package also looks very Japanese, so it could be a fun reasonable souvenir to bring back to your country if you have a plan to visit Japan soon.

Cup Noodle Light Somen is good to eat cold, too. You can enjoy it cold by adding 180g of ice and stir well before eating.

Yoriko Takahashi - January 17, 2014 Fruits Fish

Do you know what "Fruits Fish" is?

Fruits Fish is a farmed fish grown using feed that has citrus fruit in it, which reduces the fishy smell and adds refreshing citrusy flavor.

It was researched and developed around western Japan, originally intended to encourage the young Japanese generation to eat more fish and also to make use of their signature agricultural citrus fruit such as Mikan, Sudachi and Yuzu.

Today, Acecook announced that they are going to release the EDGE Onikara Yakisoba (Onikara means literally "Devil-Spicy" meaning insanely-hot fried noodles) on May 12.

I guess that Japanese people generally are not good at spicy food, so dishes called "super-hot" here in Japan might be considered only medium spicy by foreign people. But hopefully Acecook won't disappoint us with its level of the spiciness, and can live up to its Onikara name!
