JR East released design of new 5-star hotel-like luxury "Cruise Train"
Luxury Trains' Growing Popularity in Japan
JR East is planning to start the operation of a new luxury train called "Cruise Train" in the spring of 2017.
Recently, they took the wraps off of its interior and exterior designs. They were produced by famous Japanese automobile designer Kiyoyuki Okuyama (known as Ken Okuyama outside of Japan).

The Cruise Train consists of 10 cars including 2 lead cars with observation areas, a lounge car, a dining car, a car for deluxe suites and 5 cars for suites.
Design & Amenities
The 2 lead cars are covered with glass in order for the passengers to fully enjoy the dynamic moving nature landscape. The car for deluxe suites has only 2 rooms including a duplex type room. One of the 15 suites is made as a completely handicap-accessible room.
