Sigma unveiled dp2 Quattro's release day and sales price

Sigma finally announced the release day of their uniquely-shaped digital camera SIGMA dp2 Quattro. It will be out for 110,000 yen on June 27.

Sigma originally debuted the dp2 Quattro in February 2014, and AkihabaraNews had an opportunity to interview one of Sigma's staff at the camera & photo show CP+ which took place in February as well (Check the link below!).

dp2 Quattro has Sigma's original APS-C size effective 29MP Foveon X3 Direct Image Sensor. The new image sensor features a triple-layered brightness information structure (1:1:4) which increases SIGMA dp's resolution and noise performance. As an image processor, "TRUE (Three-layer Responsive Ultimate Engine) III" was adopted, which provides up to 3.5fps ultra-fast continuous shooting. The range of ISO sensitivity is from ISO100 to ISO6400.

It also features a 3.0-inch LCD display (0.92M dots) and supports SDXC/SDHC/SD memory card as storage media.
