Nissan - "Ultraman Ginga" special edition electric cars

Nissan announced that they are going to implement a joint promotion activity with Tsuburaya Productions that is a Japanese famous special effect studio.

As part of the project, 2 special edition electric cars were made based on the Nissan Leaf and the Nissan e-NV200. They are going to appear on new Ultraman television series Ultraman Ginga produced by Tsuburaya Productions. The series starts on July 15.

Before Ultraman Ginga starts, you are able to witness the special edition cars in person at 2014 International Tokyo Toy Show. The massive toy show has just started today and it will take place until June 15.

Toyota USA has announced that they are going to add the Persona to their new 2015 Prius model lineup. The price starts at $26,985.

Persona is one of the Toyota's Prius models that is customized for the American market. The first Persona model was released in the fall of 2012, and the new 2015 model will be the second in the line-up.

Japanese convenience store, FamilyMart, just announced they are installing charging stations for next‐generation vehicles (EV, Electric Vehicle/ PHEV, Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) at roughly 500 of its stores all over Japan after this summer.

As of this month, 34 FamilyMart stores already have charging stations installed.

Toyota unveiled their first commercially-available FCV (Fuel Cell Vehicle). This new-type FCV is based on the SEDAN series.

Daihatsu unveiled new technology used for their new convertible kei-car (light automobile) - COPEN - that is scheduled to be released in July. It is planned to be available for less than 2 million yen (USD 20,000).

A newly developed framework based on a frame and monocoque construction called D-Frame is used, where the car's external parts give it support and stability.
