MOSDO! - Donut burger & rice burger dessert?

A bit confusing.

A collaboration project of interesting burgers called - MOSDO! - between the Japanese burger chain, Mos Burger, and the doughnut chain, Mister Donut, was just released today.

These new burgers are created under the theme of "Swap items between Mos Burger and Mister Donuts".

At Mos Burgers stores, you can buy a burger that has a spiral-shaped chorizo, lettuce and spicy chili sauce sandwiched between Mister Donut's French Cruller donut as the buns until the beginning of July. Thank God they removed the sweet glaze from the original French Cruller for the new burger. The combination of fluffy French Cruller, fresh lettuce, and spicy taste could be awesome.

At Mister Donut stores, Mos Burger's famous rice burger with sweet bean paste, sweet potato paste, and custard cream stuffing is available as dessert. For Japanese people, since we have a rice cake covered with sweet bean paste - called Ohagi - the new rice burger doesn't seem too crazy. But for those who are visiting Japan soon, it could be quite an experience. It will be sold until late August.

Fresh miso soup anytime you want!

Marukome, Japanese miso paste manufacturer, has developed the One-shot Kiwami miso soup server for household use and they will start selling it on January 27.

You can be ready to have a bowl of miso soup simply after adding water and a dedicated liquid miso paste canister into the machine and a bowl with your favorite ingredients below. It looks like a compact espresso machine for miso soup and fits nicely in kitchens.

Kikkoman announced that they will start selling 3 new types of flavored soy milk: grape, ginger and Amazake (sweet alcoholic drink made from fermented rice) on August 18.

Honestly, when another AkihabaraNews editor told me there are new icky flavored soy milk products that will go on sale, I immediately thought what's so wrong about these flavors. They sound good!

Freshness Burger, one of Japan's largest homegrown burger chains, is going to start selling an egg benedict-like burger called Salmon Cheese Egg Burger (¥590) and Salmon Egg Burger (¥490).

Ultimate waste of money, but could be cool.

Village Vanguard, a Japanese popular chain variety store, started accepting pre-orders of the Skull Chupa Chups Case.

It's a skull-shaped case that is made only for storing Chupa Chups lollipops. It will be released for 8,800 yen in mid-December.

There is a key chain model and a necklace model, and 3 colors (gold, silver and black) will be available. The parts are made of brass.

Yokohama Ramen Museum announced that they are planning to open another Ramen Museum in Europe in less than 10 years. They will also mark the 20th anniversary of their ramen museum business tomorrow.

The visibility of Ramen has been increasing so much overseas. Proof of that is the fact that 150,000 foreigners visited the Yokohama Ramen Museum in 2013.

Japanese KFC is going to start selling a humbug steak burger "Bistro-fu Hamburg Sand" on February 5. Are they trying to get new customers by releasing multiple non-chicken meals while their competitor McDonald's is suffering from the recent rotten chicken scandal?

Have you ever wondered where most Japanese restaurants in Tokyo are purchasing those mouth-watering, but fake, sushi and ramen? Well stop wondering, they were probably purchased in one of the many specialized stores in Kappabashi-Dori!

SanktGallen, a microbrewery from Atsugi, Kanagawa prefecture, is going to release Sakura-mochi flavored beer -  called "Sakura" - in a limited quantity on February 27.

Sakura-mochi is a seasonal rice cake filled with sweet bean paste and wrapped in preserved cherry leaf. Less hops are used for this Sakura beer to maximize the Sakura flavors extracted from cherry blossom petals and leaves.

Price: ¥450 (330ml)

Cold soba noodle is one of the most refreshing dishes to eat during the hot summer in Japan. But it's so good that it may be served too often in the same way and family members will eventually get really bored with it.

So, a famous blogger Miyachan invented a cold soba noodle dish that is cute and attractive to look at. It's a "TOTORO" Tororo Soba - Studio Ghibli's TOTORO-shaped buckwheat soba noodle with tororo (grated gooey Nagaimo yam)!
