au by KDDI releases Sony's Xperia ZL2 SOL25 on May 23

au by KDDI has fixed a release date of Xperia ZL2 SOL25, Sony's new Android 4.4 smartphone, and it will be released on May 23.

Xperia ZL2 SOL25 has a high-performance 20.7MP camera that is able to shoot 4K movies (3840×2160 pixels). The video taken in 4K quality stays in full HD quality when 2X zoomed. Also, Xperia ZL2 SOL25's Digital Noise Canceling function is interesting. It is capable of cutting up to 98% of background noise.

The full HD 5.0-inch display (1920×1080 dots) features TRILUMINOS Display for mobile and newly developed Live Color LED for the backlight system.

Samsung unveiled their new Android 4.4.2 (Kitkat) smartphone Galaxy S5 at MWC 2014 (Mobile World Congress 2014), currently taking place in Barcelona, Spain. They will be releasing the 16GB model and 32GB model globally in April.

Fujifilm is going to release portable printer instax SHARE SP-1 on February 15. The portable printer allows you to wirelessly send a photo taken by a smartphone and instantly print it out on film for the instant camera Cheki series.

Sony unveiled another new smartphone - Xperia M2 - at MWC 2014 (Mobile World Congress 2014), in Barcelona, Spain.

Sony announced that it is planning to sell Xperia M2 for less than €220 (About ¥30,000, $300) although they haven't revealed which carriers in which countries will release it. It has a 4.8-inch display and a camera with 8.1MP CMOS sensor Exmor RS for mobile, and it is compatible with LTE network and NFC function.

Huawei Japan announced the release of the new non-SIM-locked Android smartphone "Ascend Mate7" that will be released in December.

Ascend Mate7 features the Super 6-inch Full HD LTPS display that reaches 15,000:1 contrast ratio. The bezel width is only 2.9mm, which makes the screen occupancy 83% and keeps the size of the body as compact as a 5.5-inch smartphone (157mm in height).

Akihabara-based company Thanko's new simplified projector for smartphone called "Sumaho de Theater" allows you to make your room a home theater at a reasonable price with no bulbs, no noisy fans, and no electricity.
