Sony - The latest high-end Cyber-shot RX100 III

From Sony's compact digital Cyber-shot series, new high-end model RX100 III (DSC-RX100M3) will be released on May 30. The estimated price is ¥88,000.

RX100 III is the third product in the RX100 series that is a compact digital camera with 1-inch CMOS sensor built-in. RX100 III has a 1-inch effective 20.1MP Exmor R CMOS sensor and the BIONZ X image processor. As a new feature, RX100 III has a Vario-Sonnar T* 24-70mm F1.8-2.8 wide lens covering the focal distance 24-70mm (35mm equivalent), which is good at shooting in a dark place or with bokeh effect.

The 0.39-inch pop-up EVF (1.44M dots) was added to RX100 III (previous models didn't have an EVF). Also, for the first time in the Cyber-shot series, it supports XAVC S format. Because of that, it's able to shoot at 50Mbps with less noise even in scenes with lots of active movement.

It has a tiltable 3-inch backside monitor (12.29M dots), Wi-Fi and NFC (first time in the Cyber-shot series).

  • Size: W101.6×D41×H58.1mm
  • Weight: 263g (only the body)
