Sony - Xperia Z2 Tablet - The world's slimmest lightest over-10-inch tablet

Sony has developed the 6.4mm thick Xperia Z2 Tablet, which Sony says, as of May 7, is the the world's slimmest and lightest LTE/3G tablet with a display over 10 inches. It will be available at au by KDDI in Japan on May 31.

LTE/3G model - Xperia Z2 Tablet SOT21 (439g)

Wi-Fi model - Xperia Z2 Tablet SGP512JP (426g)

The Android 4.4 Xperia Z2 Tablet features a 10.1-inch WUXGA display with triluminous display for mobile, Live Color LED technology and a camera with 8.1MP CMOS image sensor Exmor RS for mobile. The image processor is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 2.3GHz quad core processor, it features 3GB RAM, 32GB ROM, and is water/dustproof.

NEC is going to start selling 10.1 inch business-oriented tablet LifeTouch L on February 20.

This 7.9mm-thick 590g tablet supports Android 4.1, WXGA LCD display (1280x800), 1.5GHz dual core OMAP 4460 HS, microSD/microSDHC memory card slot, USB, HDMI terminal, 1GB memory, 16GB ROM and Bluetooth. The 8,200mAh battery runs for 15 hours.

Taiwanese ASUS is going to release a 10.1-inch Android tablet - ASUS Pad TF303CL - on August 2 in Japan. The price will be around ¥46,250.

ASUS Pad TF303CL is a SIM-free tablet so that users can use it with their choice of a carrier and plan.

It features WUXGA (1920x1200 dot) IPS LCD display, Intel Atom Z3745 processor, 16GB storage, microSD memory card reader, microHDMI output terminal, 5MP out-camera, and 1.2MP in-camera.

Panasonic is going to release 2 new models of their business-oriented tablet TOUGHPAD. The Windows 8 embedded handheld model "FZ-E1" will be out in mid-June and the Android model "FZ-X1" will be out in late August.

They feature a highly sensitive touch panel that enables full control even while wearing gloves and allows proper operations even when wet.
