Soy Cream meets milky acidic Calpis

Calpis is a traditional Japanese soft drink, which probably all Japanese people have had at least once in their life and that most Japanese enjoy. It is also likely that most foreigners who have tried it do not particularly enjoy it.

It's a white, milky and acidic drink.

To this uniquely flavored old-school drink, LB Co.,Ltd. has decided to add rich soy cream, and they are going to release Soy Cream & Calpis on April 29. I cannot imagine how these 2 different things can go well together, however, just like the cola flavored soymilk released last month by Kikkoman, Soy Cream & Calpis may make waves across the country.

Circle K Sunkus is going to release a steamed bun collaboration for Doraemon's upcoming first 3DCG movie, STAND BY ME Doraemon. It is called Doraemon-man.

This doraemon face-shaped steamed bun filled with sweet custard cream will be out on August 19, and only 400,000 buns will be available.

Nissin is going to release the first Cup Noodle product that uses Somen noodles - Cup Noodle Light Somen - on July 7.

Somen is a very thin Japanese noodle made of wheat flour, and since it's very simple and easy to eat, Japanese people eat cold Somen noodles a lot especially during summer.

Lotteria did it again. They made another ramen burger.

The last one was a ramen burger in collaboration with the famous Menya Musashi, and this time it will be a Tsukemen (ramen noodle with dipping soup) burger in collaboration with Taishoken, which is well-known for its delicious Tsukemen dishes and customers lining-up outside.

Do you know what "Fruits Fish" is?

Fruits Fish is a farmed fish grown using feed that has citrus fruit in it, which reduces the fishy smell and adds refreshing citrusy flavor.

It was researched and developed around western Japan, originally intended to encourage the young Japanese generation to eat more fish and also to make use of their signature agricultural citrus fruit such as Mikan, Sudachi and Yuzu.

Freshness Burger today released a doubtful burger called - Pizzaburg American Style.

Pizzaburg is a burger that looks like a pizza but tastes like a burger, and you eat it with a fork and knife. A beef patty, sunny-side up egg, lettuce, tomato, and cheese are on the fresh focaccia. That's served topped with bacon bits, fried onion and brown sauce.

Häagen-Dazs yesterday started selling new flavored ice cream from their Japanese-themed ice cream series "Japonais". The series is only available in Seven-Eleven stores in Japan.

The new flavor is called "Japonais Vanilla & Kinako Kuromitsu". Kinako means soybean flour, and kuromitsu means Japanese brown sugar syrup in English.
