The BRZ GT300 racecar is Subaru’s new Japanese Super GT racecar based on the BRZ (Toyota GT86) platform. It’s powered by a Subaru Technica International (STi) built 2-litre boxer engine that produces 300bhp (limited by Super GT rules).
It’s a completely built racecar sharing not much more than the name and lights with the production model. More than out and out speed, GT cars are built for rapid acceleration and high-speed cornering. While the GT300 has performed well in testing, an accident in the first round at Okayama International circuit damaged the rear of the car and they finished in 21st place.
