Takara Tomy - Hello!Zoomer - Dalmatian-shaped robot from new entertainment robot series "OMNIBOT"

Takara Tomy introduced their new entertainment robot series OMNIBOT, and they are going to release the first 2 robots - Hello!MiP and Hello!Zoomer - on June 21.

In the previous article, we talked about the two-wheeled robot Hello!MiP, so it's now time to talk about the miniature dog-shaped entertainment robot - Hello!Zoomer .

Hello!Zoomer  looks like a cute dalmatian and also acts like a real dog. Since it can handle voice recognition, it understands what we say and reacts to it. With the orientation sensor built-in, it can twist around to the right or left, or lie flat on its back. It detects things in front of it using infrared ray sensor, so if you say "Tsuitekite" ("Follow me"), it starts following you.

Because the eyes of Hello!Zoomer are made with LCD display, when it is happy, you can see a heart mark in its eyes or when it is sleepy, you can see its sleepy eyes.

You can play with Hello!Zoomer with Dog Trainer Mode, Friendly Mode, and English Mode:

Dog Trainer Mode - Once you say "Osuwari" ("Sit down"), it barks and then sits down. Then if you say "Fuse" ("Down"), it lies down. Just like a regular dog, it takes time to train Hello!Zoomer so that sometimes it doesn't listen to your words or forgets what you ordered if you haven't trained him for a while.

Friendly Mode - Once you say "Zoomer, Tadaima" ("I am home"), it starts to wag its tail and run around. Once you say "Zoomer, Tsuitekite" ("Follow me"), it will follow you.

English Mode - Hello!Zoomer is a bilingual robot that understands more than 15 English sentences and more than 30 Japanese sentences. So, when you say "Zoomer, play dead", it will act like he's dead, and when you say "I love you.", it says "I love you" back to you.
