Backboard Affixing Machine

Yokohama City's Nippon Automatic Fine Machinery develops and manufactures a machine for affixing a backboard, used in suspending products displayed in drugstores and other stores, onto product boxes.

"This machine can affix 35 backboards in one minute. The speed of this machine designed for pharmaceutical manufacturers is set at 35 per minute, but another machine for a different manufacturer that has already been ordered is capable of 90 backboards per minute. The speed output is tailored according to the customer's daily total production output. "

Because oftentimes design and development of this type of machine is done based on an original idea thought of by the designer, until now these machines have not been available on the market. Nippon Automatic Fine Machinery builds all of these machines on a custom made basis taking into consideration factors such as user production capacity requirements and installation space.

"Our box packing machines are also sold overseas, and we have many customers. Box packing machines, which are installed upstream of backboard affixing machines, are our company's specialty, so we would be very happy if accessory equipment such as the backboard affixing machine leads to further sales of our box packing machines. "

Nippon Automatic Fine Machinery also manufactures other machinery such as for affixing labels to plastic and glass bottles. Interest in the backboard affixing machine is coming primarily from the pharmaceutical industry. However, because there are numerous products suspended and displayed even in convenience stores, moving forward the company aims to expand sales of this machine to other manufacturers such as foodstuffs manufacturers.

In this demonstration, when a car is left in the drop-off area of a parking lot, it receives information about which spaces are available, then drives itself to an empty space and parks. This system can automatically park multiple cars efficiently. Honda sees a lot of potential in a system such as this, especially if it is implemented in the large parking lots of suburban shopping centers.

CCP is going to roll out the new and improved cleaning robot MOCORO CZ-562 on July 26.

MOCORO CZ-562 is a ball-type mopping robot made of microfiber and collects dust and hairs by rolling on the floor. It doesn't look mechanical like iRobot's Roomba. It's more like a fluffy stuffed animal.

Taihei Environmental Science Center has developed a system that automatically performs water quality testing, and can detect bacteria such as E. coli. In the past, this work had to be done manually. The system uses three robots to completely automate all stages of the process, from collecting a predetermined amount of the sample, injecting agar, agitating, coagulating and inverting, to the placement and storage of the culture in incubators. This level of automation not only eliminates human error, substantially improving test accuracy, it also increases processing capacity.

 

The high-end model of iRobot's cleaning robot "Roomba 780" will be available in 5 limited edition colors ONLY in Japan, starting October 28. It will be sold only on the official website and they are currently accepting advance orders.

Color variations are Champagne Gold, Cardinal Red, Passion Pink, Turquoise Blue, and Lavender. 100 units are available for each color.

Sinfonia Technology is planning to release a solar panel cleaning robot "Resola" in autumn 2014.

Resola is like a solar panel version of the iRobot Roomba, and understands its surrounding environment with a sensor and determines its own cleaning path. It cleans up a solar panel with a wiper, brush and pouring water the same way that Roomba vacuums a room.
