"Roppongi Art Night is a one-night, all-night, festival of art staged throughout the streets of Roppongi. The extravaganza spans the whole of the Roppongi district, centered on its art museums and other cultural institutions, large-scale building complexes and shopping centers, and features a range of events from art exhibits, music and performances to public discussions. During Art Night, the art museums stay open late and offer discounted admissions, and local shops and restaurants offer various special services."

Hatsune Miku is going to join Lady GaGa's world tour "LADY GAGA’S artRAVE: the ARTPOP ball" and will be performing as an opening act at 16 venues in North America from May 6 until June 3.

This is Miku's first time to participate in a musician's live concert tour. Japanese geekiness will spread to North America via Lady GaGa!

Hatsune Miku also participated recently in a duet with Japanese music group, BUMP OF CHICKEN.

We guess Pocky is one of the most well-known Japanese snacks outside of Japan. Even overseas, the traditional red box, sold in neighborhood stores, are easily in reach.

Today, November 11th, is a day of celebrating Pocky (and Pretz)! Let's eat and celebrate!

In Japan, there are lots of restaurants offering an all-you-can-eat or all-you-can-drink service, which means you can eat as much Yakiniku (Japanese BBQ), sushi, alcoholic drinks or sweets as you want (menu differs depending on the restaurant) for a certain amount of time. However, we have never heard of an All-you-can-eat Convenience Store…

Part science fair, part county fair, and part something entirely new, Maker Faire is an all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors. All of these “makers” come to Maker Faire to show what they have made and to share what they have learned.
VENTURE DAY TOKYO 2014: It's Already December!
We’re pleased to report that the Japanese startup movement is getting its legs, and a great indicator of such is the continuation of Venture Day Tokyo, an event assembled and presented by J-Seed Ventures, a Tokyo-based tech management consultancy, the IE Business School Madrid, and the Keio Graduate School of Media Design.

Valentine's day is just around the corner.

An exhibition of Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan) will begin on November 28th through January 25th at the Ueno Royal Museum in Tokyo. Ahead of the opening day, digital signage advertisement is being displayed for a week only at the Roppongi Station metro platform of the Toei Oedo Line.

The ads might give you a giggle.

A train festival will be held from August 9 through August 17 at LaLaport Yokohama in Yokohama, Kanagawa prefecture. The main display at the event will be a Shinkansen (bullet train) transforming robot called "Project E5".

Project E5 is made based on JR East's E5 series Shinkansen. It was exhibited to the public at the Tokyo Toy Show 2014, which took place in July, and became very popular.

Tokyo Game Show 2013 - On the Ground at Gaming's Premiere Event

The world's largest game exhibition "Tokyo Game Show 2013", is now taking place at Makuhari Messe in Chiba and the AkihabaraNews team was there yesterday on Press Day taking in the excitement and getting some hands on experience with many new games.

To celebrate the 15 year anniversary of ONE PIECE first being aired on TV, the Real Dasshutsu Game in collaboration with ONE PIECE will take place this summer at the concert venue Zepp in its various locations around Japan.

Real Dasshutsu Game, which in English means "user participation type escape-the-room game" has been an extremely popular event, set-up and run by the Japanese event planning company, SCRAP Entertainment Inc.
