Olympus - STYLUS SH-1 - Compact digital camera with looks like OLYMPUS PEN

Olympus is going to release STYLUS SH-1 for about ¥40,000 from its compact digital camera "OLYMPUS STYLUS" series in late April.

The new STYLUS SH-1 has an exterior design similar to that of Olympus's popular mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera series OLYMPUS PEN.

The optical 24X zoom lens covers a focal distance of 25 to 600mm (35mm equivalent) and has an effective 16MP 1/2.3 inch backlight CMOS sensor and image processor TruePic VII (the same as on Olympus's flagship MILC OM-D E-M1), giving this camera high sensitivity, low noise and ultra-fast auto-focus performance.

In addition, based on the optical image stabilization system of OM-D E-M1, STYLUS SH-1 also has the world's first 5-axis image stabilization system compatible with shooting both still and moving images.

There is a function to forward photos to a smartphone just by holding down the Wi-Fi button after reading a QR code shown on the camera with the dedicated OLYMPUS Image Share application. You can also use a smartphone to look at a live view when remotely releasing the shutter.
