Untitled Two-Man Tokyo Tech Show
Our cliché cop-out of a name is (EVEN NOW) is still holding strong... it's kinda sticking. If anyone's got something better, leave a comment and if we use your suggestion we'll send you a super powerful laser or something. That's not joke. We've got one.

Episode 1: Geektastic in Akihabara

Episode 2: Shiny in Shibuya

Episode 3: Shenanigans in Shinjuku

Episode 4: Nerding-Out in Nakano

Episode 5: Ginza & Sony Event
This week, AkihabaraNews contributor Nayalan Moodley and editor Reno J. Tibke sat around in narcissistic Ginza Ward waxing geeky on the latest J-tech news and taking a quick look at some Sony home electronics concepts and prototypes.

Now, as we said when we posted raw video of Sony's Short-Throw 4K projector:

"Ginza's kind of like a $59 sandwich."

That's because it's impossible to justify the price. Sure, you could eat uhhh...a panda meat sandwich that might ring up around $59 (and be marginally hilarious), but it would be wildly immoral and practically useless. Tokyo's famed Ginza Ward, for all it's lavish, boutique shopping and Maserati dealerships and exclusive this and that, is still just kind of...meh.

Point is, at the end of the day, the only reason to eat a panda sandwich is to be able to tell some other idiot that you ate a panda sandwich. Makes sense, right?

But, we went there anyway because the Sony building is there, and Sony might be starting to get their groove back! Have a watch to see their projected table display, ceiling display, wall display, and that beautiful 4K projector. Also, in addition to the Sony Q&A:

SwitchScience has released the construction kit for a humanoid robot called RAPIRO.

RAPIRO consists of 30 plastic parts, 12 servo motors (2 per leg, 3 per arm, 1 for the waist, and 1 for the neck). Full color LEDs are used for the eyes.

You can assemble the kit using only a screwdriver.

Holding Up the Tokyo Monorail (4K VIDEO)
If it weren't for the wear and obvious age of the cars and elevated tracks, you'd be forgiven for judging the Tokyo Monorail as futuristic and technologically marvelous. And even if the big, big city is old hat, it's hard not to be moved by that ride - but what's holding up the 51-year-old inverted anachronism?
