Tokyo Street Shots - Osaka Edition

[COLLECTION 1 IS HERE]

The usual intro follows below, but first, note that these 10 Tokyo Street Shots from AkihabaraNews contributing writer & photographer Nayalan Moodley are in fact Osaka Street Shots. Just, you know, giving a little love to the Kansai region and spicing things up a bit. Enjoy!

AkihabaraNews is Japan & Asia tech; the cool and cultural that only a boots-on-the-ground team can deliver. Our editors and contributors also provide perspective on everyday life: meeting the people, eating the foodtaking the train, using the tech, and walking the streets of this pulsating seethe of technology and social structure that, with approximately 36 million metro area inhabitants, is far and away the world’s largest city. Ever. With this project, we hope to share a little more of that.

The Living Gallery
Each week, AkihabaraNews editors set out to collect 10 high-res shots of public Tokyo life. Some scream and grab the eye, some are subtle and nuanced, even mundane.

Reader submissions are also quite welcome: email your high-res Tokyo street shots, past or present, to info@, subject: TSS. Include your name and we’ll give you a shout out in the post.

Tokyo Street Shots are posted in mid-res here at the site, and high-res on Flickr. Leave a comment. Make a request. Share. Enjoy.

It should be mentioned again: "I’m not too sure I agree with the practice of parading beautiful women around as objects of lust secondary only to the cars themselves, but sports cars are not about thinking with your brain." Wheeeeee!

The Ladies (and cameras) of CP+ 2015 (GALLERY)
Okay, so we’re a little bit late to the CP+ gallery game, but it's better than never, and that doesn’t mean it wasn’t fantastic, and apropos to the theme of the event, today we share not words, we share imagery - enjoy!

Not Only are They Everywhere...
Japanese taxis are the most beautiful (and expensive) pieces of road-candy you could ever hope to see.

They exist in their own little auto-industry universe, still rocking the far-forward wing-mirrors for optimizing both the driver’s sight-lines and the passenger’s privacy.

CarTech Fans, the Dakar Rally is On!
Bikes, trucks, cars (kinda), huge earthcrawlers full of supplies and stuff: off they've gone in this the 6th consecutive South American appearance for the 14-day, 5000 mile (8000km) endurance race.

Some Beautiful Japanese Cosplay for the Weekend (PROBABLY NSFW GALLERY) [TOP 14 of '14]
Our friends over at Tokyo Otaku Mode - the very same who've brought us sushi socks, Attack on Titan Jenga and 2015 calendars, Japanese-designed Iron Man and Daft Punk figurines, and much more - have assembled a pretty fantastic gallery of some very accomplished (in many ways) cosplayers. We picked out our 15 favorite shots to share, but do click through if you want more, more, more.

Tokyo Street Shots was by far our most popular gallery series of the past 12 months, and the collections combined amount to AkihabaraNews' 10th most popular content of 2014.

REVIEW: Lightning Rabbit Premium Gadget Cables (GALLERY)

Lightning Rabbits are cables. Some very nice cables. We reviewed them...err, commented on them. A 2000-word TL:DR expose on a gadget cable is a level of geekery to which we cannot rise, so comments suffice.
