Japanese Girl Wins Air Guitar World Championship - AkihabaraNews.com
This year’s winner, nicknamed “Seven Seas,” is a little-known former member of a Japanese air guitar idol group, but she was apparently more than just a pretender. That is to say, most of the cute young girls recruited and/or cajoled into Japanese idol groups are probably more interested in being generically famous than they are in their singing, dancing, or specific (often contrived) talent. This Nanami, however, she seems to really, really wanna rock.
Did Hatsune Miku Just go from Saccharine Cute to Borderline Hot?

There Might Never be a Hatsune Miku Live-Action Portrayal Because the Digital Render is Already too Good
And given the character’s wholly manufactured existence and disparately crowdsourced evolution, that seems appropriate. To get hip to what we’re saying here, go ahead and hit the full-screen, crank up the resolution to 1080p60, and you’ll see: meatspace humans need not apply.

SwitchScience has released the construction kit for a humanoid robot called RAPIRO.

RAPIRO consists of 30 plastic parts, 12 servo motors (2 per leg, 3 per arm, 1 for the waist, and 1 for the neck). Full color LEDs are used for the eyes.

You can assemble the kit using only a screwdriver.

Seavac has been researching the conventional coating technologies using TiN, Ti-Al, and CrN, and developed ZERO-I, a new coating that combines the advantages of all three.

"The hardness is about 3,500 HV. This coating is heat-resistant to over 1,000 degrees. Conventional Ti-Al coatings were heat-resistant to nearly 900 degrees, but this coating has even better heat resistance, and hardness as well."

Thanko Spy Watch Shoots HD Video & Stills, Stores Data - AkihabaraNews.com
Why Would a Wristwatch Shoot HD Video? It’s a more than fair question, but asking why Thanko does what it does is practically anathema to their entire business model.

The neurocam is the world's first wearable camera system that automatically records what interests you.

It consists of a headset with a brain-wave sensor and connects to an iPhone. The system estimates whether you're interested in something from the brain-waves captured by the sensor, and uses the iPhone's camera to record the scenes that appear to interest you.

Just buy wearing the neurocam, the scenes you have shown an interest in are recorded automatically, and are added to an album which you can look through later.

Vocaloid Hatsune Miku Represents on Letterman (and righteously shames pop music) - AkihabaraNews.com

American and Japanese Pop Music are Horrible and Empty.
