Samsung - Gear Fit - Wristband style device to focus on fitness

Yesterday, we wrote about Samsung's new wearable devices Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo that connect to make phone calls, play music or take photos. However, Gear Fit, which Samsung has also introduced at MWC 2014 (Mobile World Congress 2014), doesn't have any functions like that.

Activity monitor Gear Fit focuses on your health. It can connect to more than 20 kinds of Galaxy devices via Bluetooth connection so that it is capable of collecting your health related data and forwarding it to other Galaxy devices to analyze and is capable of displaying email or on-screen message notices, as well as apps.

It collects data such as your heartbeat, number of steps, and sleep condition with heartbeat sensor, gyro sensor and accelerometer on the back side, and displays the data on a real-time basis. There is a "Coaching" system function that gives you advice about your running speed and exercise based on your heart beat.

There is minimal storage in Gear Fit so it weights only 27g. The 210mAh battery keeps it running for 2 or 3 days, and with low usage, up to 5 days.

Gear Fit will be available globally starting in April.
