TAS Girls and Cars: Lost Gallery Volume 1 (We found $50 bucks in the sofa!)

T.A.S. Lost Gallery Volume 1 - AkihabaraNews.com

Girls, Custom Cars, and 100 Awesome Photos that We Totally Forgot to Publish!
You know that entirely unanticipated satisfaction that comes with knowing you’d already eaten all the cookies, yet you find one more… or, realizing that the article for which you’ve been ferociously pounding days of keyboard, is actually due a day later... or, sticking your hand down between the cushions and finding $50 bucks in your sofa: that’s exactly how we felt this morning when we came across this big-ass file of really awesome photos.

Well, that and a bit of embarrassment at having overlooked all this shiny!

Of the 100 unexpected cookies, we’re publishing 50 today, and we put the rest up later in the week (they're up now!). To enjoy some super sexy custom cars, and some finely tuned ladies, jump through below.

2014 Tokyo Auto Salon (was the venue)
For those who’d prefer a little context with their cars and ladies, the T.A.S. took place just over a month ago, and we had dispatched AkihabaraNews contributor Nayalan Moodley, AKA DarcNoodles, to cover the event, shoot photos, and put together a jamming video (see below). From his January 17 piece, to quote:

“Held January 10-12 at Chiba City’s Makuhari Messe convention center, this year’s event drew a staggering 296,714 visitors! The first event, held back in 1983 by Option Tuning Magazine, was an effort to promote car customisation and tuning culture. The event has steadily grown over the years, and 2014 was billed as the largest custom car show in the world.”

So enjoy, and check back later this week for Volume 2 (it might be the better set). Oh, and it should be noted that reporter and all-around multimedia guy and contributor Nayalan was not the one who overlooked his own photos - editors take full-force facepalm on this one.

Japanese Girls Underwater in Knee-High Mecha-Socks (MOSTLY SFW GALLERY)
Taking underwater photos of girls in bikinis wearing knee-high mecha-socks might be one of the better jobs ever to have been conceived in the history of work. And if one could also get those photos published in a book and sell it for money, the gig would definitely crack the top 10. Well, someone nailed it.

REVIEW: Casio Selfie-Cam (Me, Myself & I)

The Casio EX-TR35 is a peculiar beast...
Were you to look at the specs, you’d see a 12 megapixel 1/23 inch backlit CMOS sensor mated to a 3.8mm (Full frame equivalent of 21mm) lens in a small, but not particularly impressive, plastic body.

Very Big Game Show
If you haven't been to Makuhari Messe before, know that 'convention center' doesn't quite do it justice. No, 'stadium' is a closer approximation of the venue's size and footprint on the northeastern edge of Tokyo Bay [MAP], part of the Tokyo Metro Area, but actually in Chiba Prefecture (not far from from Tokyo Disney Land).
