Jigokudani Yaen-Koen, known for its many onsen (hot spring baths), is located in the Yokoyu Valley in Nagano Prefecture. Like the humans that come to bathe, there is a large population of Japanese Macaques (snow monkeys) that also frequent the hot springs.

Yes, one team is pretty outclassed, but it all seems to be in great fun with both sides getting a lot of applause and appreciation.

 

This is an interactive optic fiber cloth. It is made of side-emitting diffusive optic fibers so computer controlled light patterns can be displayed on it, and by attaching light receivers as well as light emitters, optical signals can be input using infrared light.

"Originally, we came across the light-emitting fabric, where light is emitted from the optical fiber surface. Conversely, we thought it could be used to input data by receiving light through the surface. So, we've created this kind of interface."

Murata Manufacturing recently unveiled a team of 10 robots called the Murata Cheerleaders, which dance in formation while balancing on top of balls.

The Murata Cheerleaders are Murata’s fourth generation of robots, following the bicycle-riding MURATA BOY in 1991, the second MURATA BOY in 2005, and the unicycle-riding MURATA GIRL in 2008. All of these robots incorporate Murata’s proprietary core technology.
