Surreal Tokyo: "In Motion," by Aaron Grimes (VIDEO)

Tokyo in Motion - AkihabaraNews.com

Awesomeness Fatigue
It's easy to grow accustomed to the bombast of everyday life here in Tokyo, and after a time, it's actually an imperative. Constant, effusive elation at the trains being on time, the streets being so clean, and how non-intuitively safe it is to inhabit the world's largest city - well, it can grate on one's peers.

Eventually, as it must, the fantastical simply fades into a rote, mundane background of one's day-to-day. That being that, however, it's also nice to get an occasional reminder of how beautiful the city can be.

In Motion
Photographer and videographer Aaron Grimes' In Motion elegantly captures what the majority of Tokyo's denizens probably take for granted. Using a Photoshop technique that blends single frames of video, a passing taxi cab, a man in a train, a girl waiting at the station - they become dreamscapes; something probably very similar to how we'll remember Tokyo if we ever leave.

Ralph Baer - Video Game Console Inventor - AkihabaraNews.com
Though he's not regarded in the same fashion, considering the impact this one guy has had on the entirety of humanity, in our opinion it's completely reasonable to place Baer among the ranks of your Steve Jobses, Bill Gateses, and Jeff Bezoses.

Sanwa Supply started selling a mobile digital microscope and camera (400-CAM010N), which is able to focus on an object with a maximum 500X zoom, for ¥11,800.

400-CAM010N looks like a normal compact digital camera at first sight, but it can take super detailed photos of fine details, such as that of material fibers, that a regular digital camera cannot do. Not just a tool for micro observation, for those who have poor eyesight, it can be used as a magnifier while they read small characters.
