Izumi Products Company, Japanese household appliances producer, will release a very geeky rechargeable shaver - "Moe" Shaver - from their shaver series "VIDAN series" on March 10.

On the front side of this limited edition shaver (500 units only!), the entire body of 19-year-old pink-haired Izumi Matsumoto, who is the PR character of the VIDAN series is printed.

 

SEL have developed a range of flexible OLED displays and high PPI LCD panels which use CAAC oxide semiconductors.

"CAAC stands for C-Axis Aligned Crystal. In this material's structure, the crystals are aligned in the c-axis direction. Because CAAC itself is crystalline instead of amorphous, it has much higher reliability. Until now, with oxide semiconductors, reliability was generally thought to be a problem, but using this material solves that problem."

Murata Manufacturing has developed the world's smallest chip ferrite beads, which are 0201 size, with dimensions measuring 0.25 x 0.125mm. Chip ferrite beads are electronic components used in smartphones and other mobile devices. Their role is to eliminate noise from electronic equipment and prevent errors in operation.

 

At the University of Tokyo, the Hirose-Tanikawa Lab is doing R&D on a system that virtually creates and affects people's emotional states.
