Panasonic - Certified Leica Lens, for Lumix G Cameras

Panasonic is going to start selling new interchangeable lens LEICA DG NOCTICRON 42.5mm/F1.2 ASPH./POWER O.I.S. H-NS043 (model: H-NS043) for LUMIX G digital single lens mirrorless cameras using Micro Four Thirds-size image sensor on February 13.

It's certified by Leica for its high quality optics and has achieved fast F1.2 aperture called NOCTICRON. It also has optical image stabilization system POWER O.I.S. to prevent both fast and slow camera shakes.

Sony has just unveiled a palm-sized 12.2MP full-frame mirrorless camera - α7S - with ultra-high sensitivity 35mm full-frame sensor, that is able to shoot 4K videos.

It combines sensitivity up to ISO 409600 with low noise, using Sony’s new 12.2-megapixel 35mm full-frame Exmor CMOS image sensor and optimized high-speed BIONZ X image processing engine.

Mirrorless interchangeable lens camera - α5100 - will be released by Sony on September 5.

Olympus is going to release the latest flagship model of their rugged compact digital camera series - OLYMPUS STYLUS TG-3 Tough - for about ¥48,000 in the beginning of July.

The new model adds a macro photography mode that enables an approach of as close as 10mm to an object from its lens. In that mode, it can zoom up to 6.9X when the focal distance is 100mm (35mm equivalent), and when used in conjunction with super-resolution zoom, it is able to shoot the object in 13.8X zoom.

Worth every yen in build and image, but still a tall order for all but the most heavily invested professionals.

Sony α77 II
Sony announced release of their new A-mount DSLR - α77 II - for about ¥135,000 on June 6.

Besides the high-end rugged camera "RICOH WG-4" and "RICOH WG-4 GPS", Ricoh Imaging announced that they will also release the standard model RICOH WG-20 for the price of about ¥20,000-¥25,000 in late February.
