Mos Burger - Sabamiso (mackerel and miso) Rice Burger

Yesterday, Mos Burger, the Japanese burger chain, released some new items for their famous rice burger series.

One of them surprised us a lot. The Sabamiso Rice Burger might look like a very new concept for those living overseas, but actually it's simple and old - it is just made from the favorite Japanese lunch combination: Makerel cooked in miso based broth with some fine strips of leek as a topping and white rice - and put into a sandwich.

To make it easy to eat the the Sabamiso Rice Burger, the miso-flavored sauce is thick enough not to drip off, the rice buns are grilled and have some nice roasted flavor and crispy texture, and the mackerel's fine bones (still in the meat) became soft enough to bite by getting simmered well.

Many Japanese think that eating sabamiso makes them want to eat a lot of rice. So we guess this Sabamiso Rice Burger will make people crave a side dish of rice…

It will be available until late March for ¥360.

Nissin calls the power "JACK powder". The provided sauce to mix with the noodle contains sweet soybean paste and spicy sichuan pepper.

House Wellness Food today released a new energy drink called SAMURIDE ENERGY DRINK produced with "Japan" as the theme.

Speaking of energy drinks available in Japan, foreign products like Red Bull and Monster Energy, come to mind first if you live here. Of course, there are many old school longtime energy drinks that exist here like Lipovitan D, Tiovita and Alinamin V, however it's hard to think of any "fashionable" Japanese energy drink brand easily.

The basic teritama burger is one of the most popular seasonal burgers from McDonald's that you can buy in Japan.  It is a pork patty coated with Teriyaki sauce and cooked egg.

Now they have announced the release of a very special Cherry Blossom version - Sakura Teritama!

Today, Acecook announced that they are going to release the EDGE Onikara Yakisoba (Onikara means literally "Devil-Spicy" meaning insanely-hot fried noodles) on May 12.

I guess that Japanese people generally are not good at spicy food, so dishes called "super-hot" here in Japan might be considered only medium spicy by foreign people. But hopefully Acecook won't disappoint us with its level of the spiciness, and can live up to its Onikara name!

The perfect toy for surviving the brutally hot Japanese summer will be released by Takara Tomy Arts on May 22. It is the "Tsumeta Oicino" compact frozen drink machine.

"Tsumeta Oicino" is a created word making Tsumetai (cold) and Oishii (delicious) sound like Italian language words.
