Ricoh Imaging - RICOH THETA - A full 360-degree shot experience

Ricoh Imaging is going to release the new concept camera "RICOH THETA" on November 8, which takes a full 360-degree photo - they call it "Celstial Sphere-Style" camera. It debuted at IFA 2013, which took place in September.

Some might think that we are talking about a panorama shot, but no, the company says that "RICOH THETA" will give you a whole different photo experience.

Ricoh Imaging newly developed their unique ultra-small twin-lens folded optics system. After taking a shot with "RICOH THETA", you can check it with a smartphone/tablet/PC that has the dedicated application installed, edit the photo, or share it on an SNS site.

At the point of its release, the application "RICOH THETA for iPhone" is only compatible with iPhone4s/5/5s/5c, but an application that is compatible with Android OS is scheduled to be available by the end of 2013.

Ricoh Imaging announced the release of the made-to-order PENTAX K-S1 Sweets Collection, which is a limited model of their DSLR PENTAX K-S1. They are accepting orders until November 30.

Colors of the limited model are designed under the theme of "sweets" coming in 3 colors: Strawberry Cake, Blue Cream-soda and Lime Pie.

Ricoh Imaging announced that they are going to release new digital camera PENTAX XG-1 with optical 52X high power zoom lens on August 8.

The optical 52X zoom covers a focal distance of 24 to 1248mm (35mm equivalent) and has the "1cm Macro" mode that allows you to approach up to 1cm away from the subject to take an impressive close-up photo. There is also a digital zoom available, which makes it possible to boost up to 208X (4992mm, 35mm equivalent)
