5 models of Sharp's new AQUOS TV "AQUOS Quattron Pro XL 10" series, with full HD panel bringing 4K equivalent high resolution, will be out sequentially from November 30.

This "AQUOS Quattron Pro XL 10" is the flagship series among all AQUOS full HD series. It features the full HD panel called "Quattron Pro" and "Mosseye panel" (that minimizes reflection of outside light), and the combination of these 2 items is able to display a high-resolution image equivalent to 4K quality.

Sharp is going to release Windows 8.1 Pro 15.6-inch tablet RW-16G1 sometime in March.

RW-16G1 includes intel Core i5 4200U CPU and 15.6-inch IGZO display (3,200x1,800 dots) and achieves 235ppi pixel density to show fine image details. It's only 12.5mm thin, weighs 1.25kg and can run for 9 hours of continuous use on one charge.

Today, AkihabaraNews joined au by KDDI's 2014 Spring product rollout event that took place in Bellesalle Shibuya-ku Garden in Shibuya, Tokyo.

At 10 A.M., the CEO of au by KDDI, Takashi Tanaka started his presentation by explaining what has and what will differentiate au by KDDI from the other major Japanese carriers during an era when all the 3 major carriers sell iPhones as well as other leading smartphones.

At au by KDDI's 2014 Spring rollout, it was unveiled that Sharp's new smartphone AQUOS PHONE SERIE mini and tablet AQUOS PAD will be out from au by KDDI in late February.

Sharp's Health Cockpit uses technology to measure and synthesize health metrics. It was unveiled at SEMICON Japan 2014 at Tokyo Big Sight this week.

Sharp unveiled the new - AQUOS Xx 304SH - Android 4.4 smartphone with 5.2-inch full HD IGZO panel, and it is due to be released by SoftBank in late May.

Also, they announced that the name of their smartphone brand will be changed from the current "AQUOS PHONE" to the new "AQUOS".

SoftBank has just announced that they are going to release new Android 4.4 smartphone AQUOS Xx 304SH, manufactured by Sharp, on May 23.

We saw the Aquos smartphone that is part of docomo's summer lineup last week.

Sharp just announced that they are going to release a 70v and 60v type touch display called BIG PAD. 70v type models (PN-L703A, PN-L703B) will be out on March 10 and 60v type models (PN-L603A, PN-L603B) will out on April 10.

A maximum 4 people can write on the display simultaneously, and the A series (PN-L703A, PN-L603A) has the "Whiteboard" functionality that allows you to write on the display with a pen right away after being powered on.

Sharp unveiled a new model of their "HEALSIO Ocha Presso" green tea maker. It will be available for sale in North America under the name "Tea-Cere" this summer!

After acquiring an ownership stake in American telecommunication company, Sprint, in July 2013, SoftBank finally started getting more serious about developing a partnership with Sprint.

SoftBank recently announced that they have developed a smartphone platform jointly with Sprint to reduce procurement costs and bring the device's price down. They are also now able to make their own unique devices and these co-developed devices will be sold in Japan and the U.S.

 

Sharp has developed a health care support chair which combines a range of sensors for checking the user's health. It can simultaneously record your blood pressure, temperature, body motion, and pulse waveform, storing the data in the cloud.
