Sony is going to release the mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera with 35mm full-size sensor built-in - called "α7" - on November 15.
On the same day, "α7R" which has higher resolution and an image sensor without low-pass filter will be out as well.
α7 - About ¥150,000
Weight: 416g (Only the body)
α7R - About ¥220,000
Size - 126.9×94.4×48.2mm
Weight: 407g (Only the body)
For "α7", a zoom lens kit with zoom lens "SEL2870" (EF 28-70mm F3.5-5.6 OSS) will be released for about ¥180,000.
Compared with other general interchangeable-lens cameras, both the "α7" and "α7R weigh about half as much. The newly developed image processor "BIONZ X" and AF technology "Fast Intelligent AF" are built-in to these compact bodies, and they are faster with high-resolution AF.
"α7" has a 35mm full-size Exmor CMOS image sensor (24.3 million effective pixels). "α7R" has a 35mm full-size Exmor CMOS image sensor (36.4 million effective pixels) without low-pass filter so that it will give extremely high-resolution output.
