Sony - New flagship Walkman with better than CD sound quality

NW-ZX1 Walkman

 

Sony announced that they will release their new Walkman flagship model "NW-ZX1" on December 7, which is compatible with maximum 24bit/192kHz high-resolution audio sources. Built-in memory is 128GB.

Estimate price is about ¥75,000.

An aluminum frame adds a touch of class to the device.  It also reduces vibrations to help maintain high-quality sound.

Digital noise canceling and FM radio functions were taken out to minimize the chances of imparting a negative effect on the sound quality.  It is designed with high-end users in mind so earphones do not come with the product. Users can use earphones and headphones of their choice.

One of Sony's most remarkable new products for 2013 Autumn and Winter is the notebook PC "VAIO Fit A" series.

It features a multi-flip hinge located at the middle of the top of the panel. Sony has announced the development of an extremely sophisticated small-size projector module (Pico Projector Module), that can be used to project images from smart devices such as smartphones or tablets.

It uses an image processing system, independently-developed by Sony, that uses laser beam scanning (LBS) to create crisp, high-definition and "focus-free" projection regardless of distance, angle or projection surface.

 

Sony is going to release special models of their Walkman F and S series.

They are collaborating with UVERworld, a Japanese rock band that has enormous popularity among youth in Japan. The UVERworld models will be available for a limited time only from November 27 through January 10.

SoftBank Announces Summer 2015 Smartphones and Services

Sony has just delivered the news release confirming that they are going to transfer their VAIO brand PC business to the Tokyo-based investment fund, Japan Industrial Partners, Inc (JIP).

No details were released regarding the monetary value of the deal. There was also no mention of any joint venture or dual ownership of a holding company with JIP for the VAIO PC business.

Sony has developed the 6.4mm thick Xperia Z2 Tablet, which Sony says, as of May 7, is the the world's slimmest and lightest LTE/3G tablet with a display over 10 inches. It will be available at au by KDDI in Japan on May 31.

Akihabaranews.com - Sony sells share of Square Enix

Sony Computer Entertainment Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary company of Sony, has just announced that they gave up all 9,520,000 shares they have (equivalent to 4.8 billion yen) of the Japanese video gaming developing company, Square Enix Holdings Co., Ltd, and have transferred them to SMBC Nikko Securities Inc.

Square Enix is well-know for its Final Fantasy series and the Dragon Quest series.
